I'll begin by saying that my friends and clients call me “Bob”. I have been serving families and small businesses as a Financial Advisor with Edward Jones for 10 years, and I have also personally built wealth for myself and my family over time in quality investments. In 2021, I made the leap to independence and founded Robert James Investments to help better serve my clients.
I have a BS degree in Business from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst graduating Cum Laude in 1984. I also earned the Accredited Asset Management Specialist degree from the Board for Financial Planning.
Prior to 2010, I was a Major Account Executive for the Verizon Yellow Pages. Here, I worked with small business owners literally from “A to Z” for 18 years. I had a friend who was a Financial Advisor, and I became a client. For years he would tell me – “you would be a great financial advisor!” and for years I said no. Then along came GOOGLE and changed the way people seek information. It was quickly apparent that it was time to say YES.
I live in Bedminster Township, about 1 mile from Kellers Church, where my wife Laurel and I were married by Pastor Bob Mittman 26 years ago in 1995. Laurel is a wonderful wife and mom, and she is also the manager of Information Technology at Central Bucks School District. My oldest daughter Morgan is pursuing her Doctorate at Ohio State University. She also blessed me this year with my first grandchild, Arlo. My daughter Claire just received her BS from Penn State and is continuing to PA School to become a Physician Assistant. My son Alexander is a sophomore studying Economics at Penn State.
I have been a lifelong musician and I enjoy singing and playing the piano and guitar. For my birthday this year, a client restored a 1938 Steinway Baby Grand – a beautiful piano that highlights my conference room and allows me to play often. Music is a real passion of mine, along with some golf and traveling with my family.
I currently serve on the board of the Upper Bucks Chamber of Commerce. I am a longtime member of St Matthews Lutheran Church in Perkasie and act as Finance Chair on Church Council. I also enjoy spending time as a member of the Quakertown Rotary Group
